In support of Hour of Code™, Classroom Antics is offering free one-hour introductory Video Game Design Events using Kodu by Microsoft® for kids in grades 1-3 on December 3 & 10, 2016 to show them they can move from playing video games to creating them. Participants don’t need any prior experience or even a computer, but space is limited so they will need to register.
These programs are intended to be introductory and show kids that they can turn their interest in gaming into creating their very own video game with the user-friendly Kodu video game design software. At these Free Game Design Events, kids will begin their journey into game design by developing their own world, character, and character movement. If they bring a USB flash drive they will be able to save their game to play it at home and receive a copy of Kodu for Windows. These free Video Game Design Events offered in support of Hour of Code will be held at the Classroom Antics Activity Center in North Royalton, OH.
Classroom Antics is offering these Video Game Design Events for free because we feel providing kids access to the field of computer science is so important because of the opportunities it creates for their future. Video Games are created with code and what makes coding so great is that anyone can learn.
