Kids can be more than a game player, they can be a game designer in the new Video Game Design: Uncharted Worlds™ tech camp being offered over winter break!
We are very excited to be offering this new camp where kids in grades 4-8 will design numerous video games by developing characters, creating environments and programming rules with GameMaker software. Kids will explore the world of game design and discover what makes adventure-style games so great, like side-scrolling, physics, and puzzle-solving.
Because of our philosophy of promoting ongoing learning, kids will be provided a version of the GameMaker Video Game Design software on a complimentary USB drive that they can also use to save the games they develop in this tech camp.
During camp, we will be teaching kids how to develop their own video games and while they do not need to have any previous game design experience it is recommended that they have spent a few hours playing video games. This will help them understand character movement and rules.
This winter break camp is one the first Tech Camps to be offered at our new Activity Center in North Royalton. Video Game Design: Uncharted Worlds Camp will be offered December 26-30, 2016 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Kids interested in coming to Tech Camp for a full day can do so by also enrolling in Minecraft: Mod Mania™ Tech Camp which is offered the same week December 26-30, 2016 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
The fee for Minecraft: Mod Mania Tech Camp is $235 for the week and is limited to 12 students. If your child loves video games they will love this winter break camp and Classroom Antics would love to have you join us by registering today.
