This class focuses on creating movies. Kids 8-13 years old.
Have you ever wanted to see your child’s imagination in action? With Animation Studio, you can. In this class, children learn how to create a story using stop-motion animation. Similar to a flip book, students take digital pictures and group them together in a time-sequence to produce a motion video. The videos are usually a minute long and can be completed individually or with a group of friends.
You’ve probably seen something similar to this on TV using clay, called Claymation (Gumby, Chicken Run, and Wallace & Gromit). But in our class, we are not limited to clay. We use action figures, cardboard backdrops, pens and markers, as well as the latest in stop-motion animation software and equipment. The story and subjects are limited only by your child’s imagination.
Animation projects follow five (5) basic steps:
-
1.Develop an idea
-
2.Create your characters
-
3.Build your background
-
4.Shoot the shots
-
5.Make a movie (compile and edit)
Students do not need animation experience prior to taking the Animation Studio class. This class is a great introduction into basic video production. Videos and pictures will be sent home with each student to show what their children accomplished in class.
