Three technologies taught in one week! Kids 8-13 years old.
Tech Camp is a co-ed summer day camp for children ages 8-13, which runs from June to August in the Cleveland and Akron area. Locations and dates are at the bottom of this page.
Children learn three technologies at camp: Video Game Design, Stop Motion Animation, and LEGO NXT Robotics. Children can pick any or all of them to learn.
Campers work on projects and develop their technology skills. In LEGO NXT Robotics, students build and program a robotic car with motors, gears, and sensors. In Stop Motion Animation, students produce claymation-style movies with sound effects, green screen technology, and their own voices. In Video Game Design, students design their own video games that can play on Windows computers. Students are able to take home their movies and video games on a USB drive provided at camp. During project time, campers are working with counselors and fellow campers to build their robots, design video games, and produce movies. On our last day of camp, Friday, we show off our work and awards are given to everyone.
Children will also spend time outside, pending weather. Campers and counselors play games during snack breaks, which are taken every 1.5 hours of camp.
Camp counselor ratios are 6:1, allowing all campers to receive individual attention. Counselors are college-educated and verified with background checks to ensure the safest environment possible for your child.
All children at Tech Camp receive a camp t-shirt and a USB drive to take home projects and pictures. Tech Camp is available as a morning or afternoon camp ($235), or full-day camp ($415).
A Typical Camp Day
Each day of camp, when children arrive, campers pick a technology to learn. For example, on Monday, your child may want to start the camp week off creating video games. On Tuesday, he/she may want to keep programming games. But on Wednesday, your child might want to make movies (Stop Motion Animation) or build robots. On Thursday and Friday, they may switch back to video games or try something new.
Friday is our fun day. Not like every day isn’t a fun day already, but on our last day, it’s a little different. On Friday, we play more outdoor games, show off our movies and video games, have robotics competitions, and more. Children are welcome to continue their projects, or just have group fun on the last day.
Tech Camp is a very popular program. We continually receive rave reviews from parents, which we usually post on our Testimonials page. Tech Camp is available as a morning camp (9-12pm), afternoon camp (1-4pm), or full day camp (9-4pm).
