Classroom Antics Overview
Classroom Antics was formed to inspire, excite, and enrich the lives of kids in today’s technology world, by delivering educational hands-on programs that promote creativity and teamwork.
Over the past few decades, our world has been turned upside-down with advances in science and technology. So the question becomes, how do we prepare our children to do more than just use these advances, but prepare them to invent tomorrow’s advances. Classroom Antics is working to do just that, by offering diverse hands-on STEM-focused programs taught by some of the areas brightest teachers that show kids how to apply STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) principles to arrive at creative solutions.
See how Classroom Antics is making today’s kids part of tomorrow’s technological future.
Toby Foote – Program Director
Growing up, Toby was highly interested in science and technology, and his desire to explore this area of study didn’t stop after he obtained his degree in Information Science from the University of Cincinnati. He then proceeded to spend numerous years gaining additional programming and technology experience at organizations such as NASA, Compass Technologies, and KeyBank. But after having children of his own, Toby realized he wanted to use his knowledge and experience for the betterment of all children, and formed Classroom Antics.
Today, Toby takes great pride in knowing that since Classroom Antics’ inception in 2007, over 8,000 children (including his own) have been able to channel their excitement, and creativity, into highly valuable technology skills.
Tara Foote – Marketing Director
Tara has a passion for learning, which she demonstrated by obtaining a Bachelor of Business in Marketing from the University of Cincinnati and a Masters Degree from Cleveland State. And, it was there she discovered a passion for marketing, which she used to help promote products and services for corporations such as Kenner, Rubbermaid Home Products, and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. Today, Tara is able to combine her passions, for both education and marketing, by promoting the valuable educational science and technology programs offered by Classroom Antics.
As a mother herself, Tara has seen first-hand that children have a large capacity for learning if they are interested in the topic. And she is awed that children as young as seven, as a result of Classroom Antics STEM programs, can do more than just play computer programs created by others, they can develop their own.
Kit John – Program Coordinator
Kit has a desire to make STEM education available to all kids. She began working with Classroom Antics as a Technology Camp Instructor where she received exceptional reviews from both parents and students. She then took on the role of Program Coordinator with the hopes of advancing the educational offerings of Classroom Antics and increasing the number of programs offered to kids in the area. Prior to working for Classroom Antics, Kit worked as a Technology Instructor for Tech4Kidz in Syracuse, NY. She currently holds a Masters of Science in Communication from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Ohio University.
Kit sees the value of STEM education for all kids and excited to be a part of Classroom Antics’ efforts to offer these educational programs to kids. She is particularly passionate about seeing the number of young girls interested in STEM-related subjects grow.
