Post-Camp Info: LEGO Bots

Thank you for joining us for a wonderful week in LEGO Bots Tech Camp! If you are interested in continuing your LEGO robotics education using LEGO WeDo. It will require you to invest a little bit of money. Since the LEGO WeDo Robotics kids do cost over $100. However, giving your child a headstart on their robotics education is well worth the investment. Below is information about how to purchase some of the materials and technologies that we use in our Tech Camp.

LEGO WeDo Robotics Kits

Kids who take part in our LEGO Bots course use all three of the above resources, the LEGO WeDo Construction Kit, LEGO WeDo Resource Kit, and LEGO WeDo Programming Software. However, as mentioned above the Resource kit is optional and only needed for certain builds.

The Construction Kit includes a number of base pieces, motors, sensors, gears, pulleys, and LEGO bricks. The LEGO WeDo Programming Software needs to be installed on your child’s computer to control and program their LEGO robot. The software is available for Windows computers.

The Resource Kit contains extra LEGO bricks and pieces that allow for more creativity. It would be our suggestion to start with the Construction Set and then the Resource Kit. That is not to say that the Resource Kit is not a valuable addition to advancing your child’s LEGO Robotics education. Without a doubt, the resources set will provide your child with the ability to make their builds bigger and more intricate.
