Do your kids LOVE Roblox? Are you on the fence about it? Should you be? As a parent of a video-game-kid turned video-game-young-adult, I have lived this struggle with you. You will find some links below with solid information for your consideration. I’ll also explain why I am taking Roblox out of Classroom Antics going forward. Read on: Roblox: Yay or Nay?
“There are various factors to consider when deciding whether or not your kid should be on Roblox.”

Even among parents who allow their children to play video games, Roblox has been a topic of controversy. Why? Roblox used to be less regulated, and kids were exposed to inappropriate content and bad actors. Roblox has been combating this reputation ever since. Click the link below for the full article.
“Roblox’s free and open communication policy means that kids’ interactions can vary widely, from legitimate player engagement to iffy involvement with possibly predatory users.”

Check out the link below to “Parent’s Guide to Roblox.” Reviews and articles give parents guidance on how to talk to their kids about Roblox. Understandably, parents give Roblox 3 stars while kids give it 4 stars.
Classroom Antics will no longer be offering Roblox as part of camp.

So – have you decided? Roblox: Yay or Nay?
The kids who took Bricks & Blox enjoyed the camp! Roblox is very popular! Yet, as the owner and curriculum developer for Classroom Antics, the controversy always bothered me. The final reasoning for not including Roblox in our camps going forward, however, is unrelated. Roblox lacks sufficient educational content to provide the high standards we hold. We also found the platform itself to be very unstable, which decreased time-on-task. We have a great replacement, though – check it out using the link below!
Sincerely, Sheri Niedermyer
