Meet Our New Owners

Meet our new owners, Sheri and Jim Niedermyer, and learn what great new things they are working on for summer camp this season.

I’m happy to announce we have new owners for Classroom Antics. Sheri and Jim Niedermyer have purchased the company and are continuing normal business operations. The sale of the company was completed last year on November 24, 2021, prior to Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Sheri and I have been working on this sale and transition for the entirety of 2021, and I can’t think of better people to take this company to the next level. Tara and I will be working with Sheri and Jim until the end of summer 2022 on a smooth transition for customers, employees, and vendors.

Does this affect my summer camp registration?

No, this does not affect your summer camp registration. Camps will continue to be taught like previous years – by professional educators in small class sizes with dedicated technology equipment.

All registrations for summer 2022 were processed in our new system. If you have already registered for camp this summer, no further action is needed. We look forward to seeing you at camp this summer!

Who is the new owner?

Sheri Niedermyer is a long-time math and computer educator who has worked for Classroom Antics for the past nine (9) seasons. After sending her son to camp, she interviewed and joined the company the following year. Starting originally as a Lead Camp Instructor with numerous positive reviews, Sheri quickly became one of our favorite Camp Managers. Sometimes, we are lucky to find the place we excel best, and Sheri was quick to find her best place at Classroom Antics.

This past season, Sheri became our Camp Director overlooking all camp operations, from program development, to hiring and teaching staff, as well as many boring back-office administrative tasks. Sheri has already been acting as the owner for the past 12 months.

Sheri’s husband, Jim Niedermyer, is a retired Senior Chief from the Submarine Force of the US Navy and now works in the HVAC business. He likes to describe his new role at Classroom Antics as “Chief LEGO Officer.” He helps behind the scenes preparing LEGOs and equipment for camp. Jim & Sheri’s son, Aaron, is a Junior at the Medina County Career Center studying Computer Science & Forensics.

What changes can we expect?

Since acquiring the company, Sheri has been investing in new camp curriculum and updating technology equipment.

This year, we have a brand new Minecraft Animation summer camp for kids ages 9-13 to learn how to produce animated YouTube-style videos with Minecraft art. The curriculum for this camp has been developed this past year, and Sheri taught pilot classes to refine the Minecraft Animation program.

Sheri also invested in 200 new solid state hard drives to improve the speed and response of all our camp laptop computer equipment. All computers will have these installed this off-season and loaded with our camp software before camps start in June.

More camps for younger kids are also being evaluated. There are about 4-5 different technology camps being discussed, that may be delivered in a variety of different in-person or virtual formats. The excitement and vibrancy of our new owner brings new depth and opportunities to Classroom Antics.

Join us in camp this summer! We want to save you a seat!
