“Teaching is the profession that teaches all of the other professions.” –Author Unknown
As a parent when I have questions about my child’s education I ask their teacher, so we decided to sit down with our Classroom Antics teachers and ask them their thoughts on tech education, and here is what they had to say about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education and Classroom Antics.
Advice to the Parents
Quite simply “do it,” was the answer given by one of our teachers when asked what they would say to a parent that is unsure of enrolling their child in Tech Camp. She went on to explain that our Tech Camps give kids way more than just a better understanding technology – they give them the opportunity to collaborate with others, understand their self-worth, and the ability to feel accomplished.
Advantages of Attending Camp
The advantages our teachers believe kids have by attending Tech Camps are helping develop problem-solving skills, enhancing their prior knowledge of tech, and giving them an edge over their peers in these exciting areas of study. Most importantly, the teachers emphasized the fact that Tech Camp keeps kids engaged about learning over the summer while giving them more individualized attention than they might normally receive during the school year.
Why Kids Love Tech Camp
Our teachers believe kids love Tech Camp because it is a “friendly, accommodating environment that is engaging” and offers a wide variety of programs that allows kids to learn in the areas of technology in which they have an interest. Tech Camp isn’t just about exposing kids to technology, many of them are way beyond that, it is about showing them how they can use technology to create and learn.
What the Future Holds
Our teachers talked about the changing world of a technology-based education and how camps like those offered by Classroom Antics are bringing more opportunities to kids to learn today and to try new careers in the future. As the emphasis of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education has increased making its way into the classroom, our teachers continue to see value in kids continuing to grow their skills in computer programming, robotics, and video game design outside the classroom.
Thank you to all of our teachers for helping to change the future today!
